Dear Friend,

 

Struggling to forgive someone....or to be forgiven....may be the most difficult challenge of all.  But, praise God, that you are willing to seek God's way!

So, I pray for you: 

 

Under the power of the Holy Spirit, Father God, I ask that you help our friend to yield all emotions, thoughts, and desires to you.  Let our friend forgive those who have wounded them in any way.  And, Father, you surely understand that it is a very difficult challenge, as you yourself have experienced so much more betrayal than we can imagine.  But You have promised that it is for freedom that you have set us free.  Father God, we thank you for that freedom.  And, we receive that peace that passes all understanding.   

 

I don't believe that you are asking us to forget the offense.  But, you are asking us to let go of the offense to You.  And, Father God, since we are sinners too, we are ready to release every emotion, every feeling, every self-righteousness, into your hands.  We trust you with all emotions, all thoughts, all desires.  We trust you with the outcomes. 

 

And, as we go through living with the memory, we turn each and every time to you...receiving your love, and your forgiveness for our own sins.  And we know that you have already gained the victory.  We live with You in that victory.  Ah, Father God, we thank you for the freshness of your presence.  We thank you for renewal and peace. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen!
